But be sure to book in advance, there is always the option to stay overnight at one of the island's many hotels. The ferry arrives on the island around 10:30am and leaves very promptly at 4:30pm. The only downside to a day trip to Catalina Island is that one day is simply not long enough to enjoy all that it has to offer.
